GJR Management

GJR is a specialist agency advising Business Improvement Districts, property owners, retailers, city centre partnerships and public agencies on place management, specifically the driving of commercial and sustainable benefit from the effective management of retail and leisure destinations and commercial districts.

Established by Gary Reeves in 2008, GJR has built upon its retail, property, town centre and BID experience to provide a customer centric service to clients who are seeking to better manage 'their place'.

GJR’s ambition is to help develop and manage great places. Whether retail, leisure or commercial in nature, to provide advise, services and resources to help deliver effective management models, vibrant environments and memorable experiences.

GJR brings together the expertise of sector specialists to respond to specific customer requirements across the different aspects of place management. Together the group offer a cost effective solution to many of the challenges of Town Centre Management and Place Management.

People

GJR Director, Gary Reeves, has 30 years’ experience in retail, property and town centre management. Significantly, between 2001 and 2008, Gary set up and led Europe’s largest and highest profile Business Improvement District in London’s West End. Since launching GJR in 2008, Gary has established, mobilized and managed over 25 Business Improvement Districts.

Gary has held Chief Executive and Director roles within the BID sector and has provided industry insight to the DCLG, ATCM and Bb. Since BIDs emerged in 2004/5, Gary has been closely engaged within the development of the industry; part of the ATCM pilot project which led to the establishment of BID legislation, providing advice to the DCLG on the regulations which support the legislation, working with British BIDs (Bb) as an assessor of the Bb Accreditation scheme and more recently providing evidence to support the DCLG review of BIDs and regulations to enable the establishment of Property Owner BIDs.

In addition to establishing one of the first occupier BIDs in the UK in 2005, notably Gary has project managed the establishment of the first cross boundary BID, the first three property owner BIDs in the UK and a portfolio approach where 2 or more BIDs are developed within a single strategic plan.

Gary is at the forefront of current thinking on industry best practice and governance.

Community

Supporting Children’s Sport in the Community

GJR encourages children’s participation in community sport. Both to provide activities that may otherwise not be available and provide healthy alternatives for children’s leisure time.

GJR undertake direct programmes in its own community and encourages its clients and partners to undertake similar programmes in locations which have engaged the services of the organisation.
